Based on their high rating at Trip Advisor, for a romantic night out in Oslo I decided to try the Italian restaurant Ruffino Ristorante Italiano. I was in the mood for some good Italian as I have not as of yet located an Italian fave restaurant in Oslo.
The restaurant is conveniently located a short walk from the National Theatre, and is in a quieter area of town. The restaurant is small, and I did reserve beforehand (although they still had one table free when I arrived). The interior is charming and the style is simple, but clean, and not cheap.
I chose a never tried before Italian dish;
279 NOK. Lord. I mean, it was good (or maybe just exciting; for that price I’m sure I convinced myself to think it was unbelievable so I can’t really be sure), but I definitely wasn’t wowed. Just a little by the waiter who was a copy of an Italian Rybak. He was very attending when needed to. The pheasant was highly dependable on the side dish. The vegetables were fresh but not interesting, and the potatoes were only OK. The bacon was a good add, and the best part was the delicious gorgonzola sauce. Too bad there was so little of it.
My rating: ♥♥♥♥
There was also room for desert;
I love Panna cotta. The flavor, and the consistency. This one did not have so much of the first part. I won’t order it again. Santino’s does this better.
My rating: ♥♥♥
Not sure anyone else does this better!

All in all I enjoyed the laid-back style of the restaurant, the cozy setting. I see the place is still holding a high rating so I will be back for an Italian dish, and more fondant!
